One of those cut outs had this recipe, and trust me, more than finding it interesting, I found the name so amusing that I had to try making it! And to my surprise, it turned out ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! I have never had this before and now I think it is going to be a permanently stocked up dish in my fridge. A new addition to my all time favorites. And it definitely couldn’t get healthier than this!
Since I have decided to make all steamed dishes / snacks this week, I have been looking for interesting recipes in every possible book I have and even asking my mum-in-aw for her opinion. She always cuts out interesting recipe articles from newspapers for me to try them out as and when.

As a kid I have always loved the winter season, as fresh and tender methi leaves were vailable in plenty! Mom would always make a lot of different dishes with it. But the best of all were the parathas! It was amazing to feast on freshly baked methi parathas with a big blop of amul butter on a nice cold winter day, with a hot cup of tea. Divine! One of the weekends, we had gone to a well known Indian restaurant for lunch, and were pretty intrigued with the dish called 'Methi Murg' which we had never had before. Trust me, the waiter was surprised thinking that he left an empty clean bowl on our table! It turned out to be so so delicious that we literally wiped the bowl clean. I had to try making this on one of our Thursday's special dinner, and wow did it turn out delicious!! A very simple, quick recipe and unbelievably tasty! Hope you like it as much as we relished it. Bon Appétit Anything to do with methi leaves, and we are always willing to experiment.
My husband is a big fan of dal - rice. And of course, the same ones can't be repeated for atleast two week. So whenever there is a request for dal-rice for dinner, I have to get into the 5th gear for innovations. This one surprisingly turned out absolutely delicious! Especially with jeera rice, ghee poppadums and pickle. Lip-smacking yummy! Bon Appétit The other day, I had a bit of fresh methi leaves left, not enough for parathas or a sabji by itself, so thought of trying out something different. Not exaggerating, but this has become an at least-once-a-week-must-have sabji now. It is like soul food. Mash it a little, add some lemon juice have it with freshly made rotis and ghee, with of course onions on the side. Through the meal we didn't speak a word! The sabji is capturing. Definitely a must try! Bon Appétit |
